Learning through the Ages
Engaging seniors through active learning and lively discussions
About Robin
Robin Shelgren is a trained intellectual program instructor who partners with management at senior communities to engage their residents in learning through presentations and lively discussions.
Spending almost a decade creating and implementing educational programs for seniors, residents rave about Robin’s programs and administrators have noted their excitement stating that “we learn so much from her”! Robin knows what truly stimulates the aging population. Her successful programs reflect her winning approach of connecting with people to better understand their interests, backgrounds, and personal stories. She recognizes that it is through understanding a person that creates the connection you share with them. This is the basis for her program design. Whether it is resurrecting memories of the past or teaching residents something new, Robin’s programs have sparked conversation and participation throughout communities across New England.
Robin has several educational presentation topics: travel, history, music, film and holidays. Her reputation as a presenter has been noted throughout senior centers. In addition to her extensive work with the elderly, Robin has experience as a high school teacher and as a corporate trainer and curriculum developer at technology companies. Her work as an experienced instructor coupled with her desire to promote a healthy lifestyle among seniors makes her an asset for your community.
Robin holds a B.S. in theology with a minor in history and a concentration in education from Emmanuel College.
“Robin’s approach to connecting with people and the desire to promote lifelong learning among seniors makes her a big asset to any community. Her efforts in understanding people’s interests, backgrounds, and personal stories warrants the special one of a kind reputation she has built.”

“The residents are thrilled with your programs…they thoroughly enjoyed the last presentation! They talk it over for days following the program. They certainly appreciate your research, knowledge, and find you extremely organized and efficient. It’s a tough crowd here, so that’s an amazing compliment!
— Susan Benner, Huntington Common

— Mary Mazza, Atria Marland Place
